Designed a centralised market analysis experience across web and mobile, bringing together fragmented research tools to help traders discover insights and make more informed decisions before placing trades.

Context & Challenge
Market research was an important part of the trading journey, but analysis tools were spread across different areas of the platform and external experiences.
Users had to navigate between multiple sources for information such as:
- Market news
- Client sentiment
- Trading activity
- Financial reports
- Company fundamentals
- Economic data
This made it harder for traders to discover relevant insights at the right moment in their decision-making process.
Understanding trader needs
I started by understanding how traders currently research markets before placing trades:
- User interviews exploring research habits, tools used, and decision-making processes.
- Analysis of existing customer feedback and requests.
- Review of current market analysis journeys across platforms.
Key insights
- Traders used multiple sources to build their market view.
- Research behaviour had evolved, with users expecting more information directly within trading platforms.
- Important analysis tools were difficult to discover because they were spread across different locations.
The opportunity was not just adding more tools — it was creating a clearer structure that connected research with trading decisions.
Information architecture & design
Working with designers, Product, and stakeholders, I helped define the structure and navigation model for the Insights Hub.
Design challenges
- How should different research tools be grouped?
- How can users quickly discover relevant analysis?
- How do we create consistency across web, iOS, and Android while respecting platform patterns?
Design activities
- Navigation and information architecture workshops.
- Exploration of different grouping models and user flows.
- Prototyping across platforms.
- Usability testing with traders.

Impact
- Created a single destination for market research across web and mobile platforms.
- Introduced analytics to measure engagement, including visits, time spent, and user journeys.
- Connected research with trading decisions by tracking journeys from Insights Hub to the Deal Ticket.
- Closed key feature gaps identified through customer research and competitor analysis, making the platform more competitive.
- Built a foundation for future growth by enabling new research tools and features to be added over time.
One interesting challenge was defining success. Unlike a conversion flow, the goal wasn’t simply to increase trades. Good market analysis should help users make better decisions, even if that sometimes means choosing not to trade.
That’s why we focused on engagement with research and how it influenced the journey towards trading, rather than trade volume alone.
